A spokesperson for the San Joaquin County Jail has confirmed they are detaining a local lingerie thief in lieu of $100,000 bail.   The defendant was taken into custody approximately one minute after committing the crime.   The Ripon Police have been credited with their fast acting and swift response.

The incident unfolded late last week after a clerk at a local woman's clothing store placed a call to police.  The woman said a woman had come into the storefront and had swiped close to $200 worth of lingerie.   Law enforcement agents were already in the area and were able to respond very fast.  The suspect was located quickly and she admitted to stealing various items.

Defendant Chandra Ashlock was also found to be in possession of stolen property from another local business.  Officers have not said what those items were and have not disclosed their approximate value.  Ashlock was handcuffed at the scene and was transported to the San Joaquin County Jail.  She is reportedly being charged with two counts of felony burglary.

If the defendant, one of her friends or family members wants to hire an expert bondsman their cost would be $10,000, or 10%.  In addition, the person who cosigns the bail bonds agreement form would be taking full responsibility the defendant will go to court and handle her case.

The matter is ongoing.
