Sources within the San Diego Police Department say a local couple was quite frazzled last weekend after three suspects crashed into their car and then carjacked them.

The incident took place just before 10 p.m. on Saturday night, they said, when the couple was getting off Interstate 5 at the Nobel Drive offramp.

The driver of that car pulled over to exchange insurance information with the vehicle that struck them.  That's when one of the passengers of the other vehicle stepped out, pulled a gun and ordered the couple to hand over their keys, wallets and cell phones.  The woman's purse was also taken.

Officers said the vehicle was dumped in Southeast San Diego a few hours later.

One suspect is described as being a Latino male between the ages of 25 and 30.  The second suspect is described as being a Latino male in his 20s, who covered his face with a bandana.  He's the one tho had the gun, they said.

The third suspect is also a Latino male in his 20s who was wearing a bandana.

Anyone who thinks they have information that could lead to the capture and arrest of these men is asked to call the SDPD.
