Criminals do the darndest things...
2014 has been an interesting year for weird and bizarre crime.  Below, we've listed our "best of the best" from the past 12 months, which span the good to the bad to the ugly (and even the strange).

14.  The double wet willie that landed an airman in jail.  In October of this year, a 24 year-old member of the armed services was enjoying some time off from service.  He was with friends, they were out drinking, and at some point, he decided it would be a great idea to give a 'double wet-willie' to an …

Assault With A Deadly Lager

A female bar patron found herself in hot water with Santa Monica Police officials earlier this month after she fast-pitched a pint of beer at a local bartender.

According to police reports, officers were called out to investigate the Dec. 13 incident after receiving a call about an assault.  Bar staff said the assailant ordered her adult beverage but refused to pay.

The suspect allegedly told the the worker that she didn't have to pay for her beer because he was African American and she was Caucasian. So he asked her again.

Instead of reaching for her wallet she began to rattle …

Desperate Man Fakes Heart Attack To Steal Christmas Gifts

A Florida man found himself behind bars last week after he faked a heart attack so his friend could steal a Barbie car.

Sheriff's deputies say two men walked into a local retailer and worked together to pull off the heist.  The first man's job was to distract the store's employees.  The second was charged with gathering up as much loot as he could, and making a run for it while no one was watching.

All of it was caught on tape.

Security officials say the pair was seen walking into the business together; each grabbed a cart and started piling in …

Arrest Made In McChicken Assault Case

A man who broke his wife's nose after throwing a McChicken sandwich at her face has been arrested and booked on domestic violence charges.

Sources close to the case say the whole thing happened because his wife woke him up in the middle of the night and handed him the sandwich; he became angry because he "doesn't like them."

The assault started by him launching the McChicken at her face; the suspect furthered the incident by picking up part of the bun and launching that in her direction as well.

When police arrived on scene they found the sandwich in shambles; the …

Alleged Bank Robber Steals Cab To Make His Getaway; Gets Arrested

People in California seem to have an odd habit of stealing taxi cabs so they have a fast way to get from point A to point B.

Last year, a San Diego man stole a taxi so he could drive himself home from jail. (Suffice to say, that didn't exactly work out in his favor.)

This time the incident took place in Santa Ana; members of the local police department say that last last week a suspected bank robber decided to carjack a taxi in hopes of getting away with his loot.

Santa Ana Police Department officials say the incident took pace …

$100,000 cash found at San Jose Burger King
A Burger King employee had the shock of her life last week when she found an abandoned backpack near one of the fast food restaurant's tables.

It was just another normal day, according to sources, and it seemed that a patron had randomly left the item behind.  But when the owner of the franchise took a peek inside, he never imagined he'd find roughly $100,000 in cash.
Piles of $50s, stacks of $100s
The assistant manager said she first spotted the bag while she was wiping down tables on Wednesday; she didn't think too much …

Lawsuit Prompts Sheriff’s Department To Break-Up With Facebook

Lawsuit Prompts Sheriff’s Department To Break-Up With Facebook

The San Diego Sheriff's Department has seemingly kissed its Facebook page good bye after an Oceanside gun parts dealer filed a lawsuit against the agency in the Southern District federal court.

Sources close to the case says it all started with a couple, less-than-flattering comments about Sheriff Bill Gore; the plaintiff said not only were his remarks deleted, the department banned him from posting anything else on their Facebook wall.

His attorney has alleged that both these actions have violated his client's right to free speech.  Their argument is simple-  social media platforms are the new "town hall meetings".   All citizens …

Hot Air Balloon Ride Lands Sisters In Jail

Two female tourists found themselves taking an unintended to the big house this week, although neither one was taken into custody.

Authorities say the incident started off when the pair, who was on holiday, decided to take a hot air balloon ride.  The operator wound up losing control of it a short time later, citing high winds and unstable air conditions.

Ultimately, he needed to make an unintended landing; no one suspected that would happen on grounds of the Amjer jail.  Neither woman had any idea where they were once the balloon touched ground, but the second the alarms and sirens …
