After leading police on a chase, a woman and her male accomplice were arrested by local police. The female, 24-year-old Adriana Martinez, was taken to Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee. According to CBS affiliate KFMB, Martinez led police on a pursuit at around 5:45 p.m. on February 18.
Martinez and a male passenger were signaled to stop after a patrol officer ran the license plate of the Honda and it came back as a stolen vehicle. KFMB reported Martinez pulled over for a moment before she sped away from the patrol car. Speeds during the chase reportedly reached 80 miles per hour on and off the freeway through La Mesa and El Cajon. Martinez and her 27-year-old passenger, Ernest Molina, then ran a red light at Navajo Road and Fletcher Parkway and collided with two cars before spinning out of control.
The two individuals attempted to flee from police after they escaped from the wreckage, according to ABC affiliate 10 News. A police dog was used to capture and arrest Martinez. Once arrested, she was taken to a hospital to treat injuries from the dog. Molina also reportedly struggled with police before he was arrested.
Reports said Martinez was booked into the Las Colinas Detention Facility approximately 40 minutes after Molina was booked in the San Diego Central Jail.
