The San Diego Police Department arrested a man who allegedly stole a car at gunpoint and then drove the vehicle into a ditch, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

A driver and passenger of a Nissan Altima told police that a man walked up around 7:30 p.m. the night of November 25 and told them to get out of the car, according to the article. About a mile away from where the two reported their car stolen in the Encanto neighborhood of San Diego, police located the vehicle and attempted to pull it over. The driver, however, took off in the car and drove a short distance before he reportedly lost control and drove into a ditch.

After the suspect crashed the car near Radio Road, east of 60th Street, police arrested him, according to the U-T.

Fox News reported the name of the man who stole and crashed the car was not released. He was not injured in the crash and was immediately taken into custody and placed into a San Diego jail. Earlier in November, a driver was forced out of his Mercedes at gunpoint by two men in the Bay Terraces neighborhood of San Diego, another Fox News article stated.
