Officers with the San Diego Police Department arrested two people October 28 in separate stabbing incidents. The first arrest was of a 36-year-old man suspected of stabbing a cab driver in the shoulder with a kitchen knife, ABC affiliate KGTV reported. The other suspect booked at a San Diego jail was a 26-year-old woman arrested for allegedly stabbing a 52-year-old man during an argument about drugs.
The cab driver told authorities the male suspect followed him into an African restaurant late on the evening of October 28 after the suspect asked him for a cigarette. After the cab driver said he didn't smoke, the suspect followed him and stabbed him. The cab driver said he tackled the suspect and held him down until the police arrived, the ABC article stated.
The cab driver was transported to a local hospital and it was determined his stab wounds were not life-threatening.
The second suspect was arrested for reportedly assaulting the man more than twice her age and stabbing him in his hands. Both the victim and the suspect were taken to the hospital due to wounds suffered in the struggle for the knife, CNS reported. All injuries were not life-threatening.
