The bail has been lowered for a 26-year-old San Diego County man charged with nine felony counts for making death threats to his former coworkers at Pomerado Hospital. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, San Diego Superior Court Judge Lorna Alksne reduced Jelaan Miles' San Diego bail bond from $1 million to $500,000 because there was a misunderstanding in the courtroom.

After searching through Miles' home n the 2500 block of Fenton Parkway on April 18, investigators say that Miles had been using a Yelp account to make threatening messages toward local businesses, including the hospital, according to Fox 5 San Diego. Police also discovered a number of films he made, where he also verbally makes threats while showing off weapons such as his mother's gun and a sword. Authorities arrested Miles and seized a number of computers and firearms from his home following the raid.

Although Judge Alksne agreed to cut Miles' bail in half, she ordered him to stay away from all Palomar Health facilities, including Pomerado and Palomar hospitals. According to the source, Miles worked at the hospital as an environmental service worker performing tasks such as housekeeping. During his employment, he was ordered to avoid five employees for allegedly threatening them and was later terminated from his position. His next court date is scheduled for May 6.

Man held in jail on $1 million San Diego bail bond for alleged murder
Another San Diego resident was recently arrested and remains in jail on a $1 million bail bond for the alleged murder of his landlady's friend. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, 58-year-old Michael Hemphill is suspected of fatally shooting 36-year-old Brandon Sanchez after the two argued about Hemphill's pending eviction. Police told the source Hemphill began an argument with Sanchez regarding his housing situation, which eventually led to him shooting Sanchez in the chest. Sanchez had been at the trailer park by the request of Hemphill's disabled landlady, who had allegedly been attempting to evict him for some time, but was unable to do so.

Police found Sanchez outside of a trailer on April 24 after receiving a complaint that shots had been fired in the neighborhood. Escondido police Lt. Neal Griffin told the source when they arrived to the park, Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene.
