A man is being held at San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of beating an elderly couple behind a strip mall, CW affiliate XETV reported. Wyatt Kirk Bradley, who is currently on probation, was booked into the jail after allegedly attacking a 63-year-old man and his 70-year-old wife, knocking them to the ground, taking the keys to their truck and attempting to steal the vehicle before running away. He is being held on suspicion of assault, robbery, elder abuse and attempted carjacking.

Bradley was identified by San Diego County Sheriff's Department investigators because he had given the elderly couple his name before beating them up, the article stated. Both victims also identified Bradley in a photo. The two had been collecting scrap cardboard when the attack occurred.

"He just came up to the door [of the truck], grabbed me, and swung me out. Punched me in the head," the male victim told the news source.

The victims were taken to a nearby hospital. The man was treated and released the same day. However, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported the female victim remained in the hospital to be treated for a possible brain injury.
