The trial for a man charged with conducting numerous armed robberies in San Diego County will begin December 12, CNS News reported. Elvin Vincent Foster, also known as the "Be Cool Bandit," faces 10 robbery charges and a maximum sentence of 35 years and eight months in prison.

A judge recently found there was enough evidence to warrant a trial, CNS reported. Deputy District Attorney James Koerber alleged that Foster robbed convenience stores and gas stations in the San Diego area with what appeared to be a semi-automatic weapon. Foster was given his nickname after a police detective testified at Foster's arraignment in July that he told his victims to "Just be cool, be cool." All of the robberies took place between May and July in San Diego, El Cajon and National City.

Fingerprints and DNA evidence  were also collected at the crime scenes. Authorities found a red, white and blue jacket and a gray beanie after they arrested Foster, which the said linked him to some of the robberies, the CNS article stated.

Foster remains in San Diego County jail in lieu of a $750,000 bail. According to a July article in the San Diego Union Tribune, Foster was tied to robberies of a Subway shop and two 7 Eleven stores as well as numerous gas stations. At the time, authorities were asking for the public's help in locating the robber.
