A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department said the recent playoff game between the 49ers and Green Bay Packers kept them on their toes. Officers said the home team's divisional playoff victory sparked widespread alcohol induced celebrations.
A total of 92 spectators were reportedly ejected from Candlestick Park during the game, they said. An additional 25 were cited for public intoxication. Later in the game, officers arrested another two men who were found attempting to burglarize a vehicle in the stadium parking lot. Two more arrests were made at the end of the game. Those individuals are being charged with driving under the influence.
People who are charged with public intoxication will not likely need to hire a bondsman to help get them out of jail. In most cases those individuals are cited and released. Those who are found to be extremely disoriented may be transported to the Bryant Street Jail where they will remain in custody for 8 to 10 hours, until they sober up.
Bail information for the burglary suspects was not immediately available. It is believed their bail amount was set in excess of $15,000 each. That amount could be higher if they were found to be in possession of stolen property, burglary tools or if they had drugs on their person at the time of the arrest. The cost to purchase Bryant Street Jail bail bonds is 10% of the defendant's total bail amount.
