Authorities from the Redwood City Police Department were able to find the two suspects in connection with a home robbery in February. According to Bay City News Service, 21-year-old Luis Trujillo and his 17-year-old female accomplice were arrested in Mexico February 27.

Police tracked the suspects to Mexicali where they were eventually arrested by Mexican authorities. The article stated they were transported to the U.S. border, given over to law enforcement officials from the United States and taken into custody.

The two suspects were accused of breaking into the home of a 79-year-old woman and robbing her at gunpoint, Bay City News Service reported.

Trujillo was taken to San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery, kidnapping, elder abuse and conspiracy. The 17-year-old female suspect was taken to San Mateo County Juvenile Detention Center on the same charges as Trujillo, according to Bay City News Service reported.

On the day of the robbery, 21-year-old Jovanni Aguilar and Trujillo allegedly held the elderly woman at gunpoint while they went through her house and belongings. The victim was able to contact police and inform them of the invasion after the suspects locked her in a bedroom, Bay City News Service said.

Aguilar was captured and arrested on the day of the invasion while he was attempting to flee the scene upon the arrival of police officers.

Efforts to catch Trujillo and the teenager were made by a number of law enforcement departments including the Redwood City Police Department, the San Diego and San Mateo County District Attorneys' Offices, the U.S. Marshal's Office and the Baja State Police, news reports said.
