San Mateo County law enforcement has been called out to investigate a number of colorful crimes in the past few weeks.  Below are just a few examples of the calls that have come in.

Menlo Park Police said that they were recently called out to talk to a 24 year-old female who had her shoes stolen while she was walking across a pedestrian bridge.  He cell phone was also stolen during the attack.  The suspect said the man tried to remove her pants, but he ran off when she fought back.  The suspect is still at large.

A few days later, MPPD officials said they arrested a 19 year-old man who was seen brandishing a firearm during a Terminal Avenue robbery.  The suspect was booked into the San Mateo County Jail where he was held on undisclosed bail bonds.

During that same week, officers were called out to investigate several robberies.   During the first incident, the suspect it believed to have gained entry to a retail store through an unlocked door.  About $300 was stolen during the crime, they said.

Several days prior, police say an unknown suspect broke through the skylight of a coffee shop and ran off with roughly $150.  Anyone who thinks they may have information that can help the department identify a suspect is asked to place an anonymous tip.

And lastly, three Woodside High School students found themselves in pretty hot water after a staff member caught them high.  Sheriff's deputies arrived at the school and quickly learned the trio had shared some marijuana cookies.

The student who was found to be holding the stash was cited and will need to appear in court at some point in the next few weeks.  All three were suspended.
