Sheriff's deputies arrested a man in San Clemente on suspicion of a burglary that took place in Laguna Hills on the evening of April 18.

After a tip was called in on April 22, an Orange County Sheriff's deputy arrived in the Los Molinos district of San Clemente just after noon. The San Clemente Patch reported that a man tipped off the sheriff's department after recognizing 27-year-old Brian Michael Vaught as the man who allegedly burglarized his home on Maplewood Drive the previous week. According to the burglary report, the suspect was armed as he exited the Laguna Hills home carrying a black bag. He fled the scene in a blue Volkswagen Jetta.

Because the suspect was described as armed by the caller, the deputy brought along a tactical rifle to the Best Western Casablanca Inn at Los Molinos and El Camino Real, where Vaught was reportedly seen. The San Clemente Patch reported that though the authorities did not find Vaught at the hotel, they later located him and arrested him off Camino De Estrella.

As of April 24, Vaught is being held in Orange County's Theo Lacy jail on $20,000 bail bond.
