An inmate who recently escaped from Theo Lacy Jail in Orange County has been found by authorities. According to ABC Los Angeles affiliate KABC, a tip is what led deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Department to the wanted inmate, 26-year-old Saith Na. Authorities said Na was arrested without incident when he was taken back into custody.
According to ABC, Na was captured at a motel in Oceanside March 2 at about 5:30 a.m.
Na has been in jail since last August on charges stemming from robbery, narcotics, weapon possession and criminal street terrorism offenses, news source ABC says.
According to the Orange County Register, Na was found missing during an inmate count on March 1. The sheriff's department immediately put the jail on lockdown so deputies could begin their search for the missing inmate.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department did not say how Na escaped from the jail due to its ongoing investigation, the Register said. The investigation also includes a look into whether or not Na had help from another individual and how he was able to get to Oceanside.
Na was being held in a part of the jail considered to be "minimum-security," according to the Register.
In the past 20 years, only one other man has escaped from Theo Lacy Jail besides Na, the Register said. In January 2012, an inmate working in the jail's kitchen managed to break out and was found and captured within 24 hours of his escape.
