A woman who was arrested for attempting to set a lingerie store on fire is being held at the Orange County Central Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
The 42-year-old woman, Jennifer Renee Colwell, gathered trash around the store and was spotted by an Orange County sheriff's deputy throwing a flaming, gasoline-soaked pillow at the business on October 2, the Orange County Register reported. Flames reached six feet before firefighters arrived on the scene, the article stated.
Sources say Colwell was upset over a failed relationship. The man she was involved with did not work at or own the lingerie store, the OC Register reported. However, the man allegedly bought Colwell gifts from the store during their relationship.
The incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. in the 34100 block of Pacific Coast Highway, KTLA reported. Colwell was arrested and taken to Central Jail.
The deputy saw the woman ignite the fire during a routine patrol, the Dana Point Times reported. She admitted to starting the fire and was charged with two felony counts of arson, the article stated.k
