Venice Beach Dog Walker Throws Hissy Fit With Police, Gets Ticketed Anyway

Late last week a beach area blogger stumbled upon quite the spectacle.

It all started when as seemingly entitled, long brown-haired 20 year-old woman was walking her dog on the sand. This is a big no-no, as per city ordinance, because the four-legged animals' excrement have been making seals sick, and sick seals have been making dogs sick.

Signs are posted everywhere, and although there's a decent sized contingent of residents who chose to ignore the law, for the most part, when the LAPD Pacific Station police catch them, they issue a verbal warning and shoo them back to the sidewalk.

LAPD Pacific Division Announces National Night Out Event

A representative from the LAPD Pacific Division has confirmed they have announced an event for National Night Out.

The event will wake place on August 6 at the Mar Vista Recreation Center between the hours of 6pm and 9pm.    National Night Out first started in 1984.   The effort was founded to help promote police-community partnerships, involvement in crime prevention activities and to help with neighborhood camaraderie.

It also sends a strong message to criminals that neighborhoods are fighting back when it comes to unlawful activity.
