Santa Ana Police on November 20 arrested a 22-year-old woman suspected of car theft. She tried to escape from officers who reportedly caught her speeding near the Santa Ana Civic Center in the city's downtown area, the Orange County Register reported.

The article stated the woman refused to yield to the officer, which ignited a pursuit by the police as the officer followed her at speeds up to 65 miles per hour. The suspect also ran several red lights, according to reports. The woman was driving a Honda Accord that police suspect she stole right before the pursuit occurred. She crashed the car near Lincoln Avenue and 17th Street, and she was taken to a Santa Ana jail.

Earlier this month, Santa Ana police arrested a man who also failed to yield to officers, causing a "wild pursuit" in the city, CBS Los Angeles reported. The man was driving a black truck he allegedly had stolen days before and had used to flee the scene of several robberies. The man struck four vehicles and took down three trees as he tried to drive away from the police, the article stated.
