Three men are being held at Orange County jails on charges relating to an attempt to sell one pound of methamphetamine in numerous local communities, the OC Weekly reported.

Forty-three-year-old Jon Jason Mashburn, 28-year-old Dustin Craig Boston and 38-year-old Lorie Catherine Beck tried selling the narcotic to a person who ended up being a police informer, in August. Mashburn has been arrested six times before on drug-related charges and is being held at the Orange County Jail along with Boston, according to OC Weekly. Beck is being held at the Santa Ana Jail.

The three were indicted by a federal grand jury, the article stated, and each face a single count of conspiracy to sell methamphetamine.

To help combat drug dealing and other crimes, an anonymous tip line was created in Orange County last year. The nonprofit organization Orange County Crime Stoppers passes on the tips it receives to the Orange County Sheriff's Department and other local law enforcement agencies. The OC Register reported the call line has generated nearly 700 tips that have led to more than 100 arrests in its first year. The tips, which have been sent by text, phone call or email, have also led to the recovery of $253,684 in illicit drugs, the article stated.
