Santa Ana police made an arrest in a January 10 hit-and-run accident that killed a 75-year-old man. Victor Manuel Arredondo Anaya was arrested by the Santa Ana Police Department after officers identified debris on the vehicle he was driving that matched the debris found at the crime scene, CBS reported.

A local resident saw the dark blue BMW at the intersection of First Street and Grand Avenue. The vehicle matched the description of the car police said hit and killed Miguel Chaves Ceja as he was walking near Edinger and Orange avenues in the early morning. The resident notified the police of the vehicle, and officers tracked it down, the article stated.

Ceja was visiting from Mexico. He was declared dead at the scene of the accident, according to CBS. He was a father of 10 children.

The Orange County Register reported Anaya has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license. Anaya, 27, has a suspended license because of a previous DUI charge from December 12, 2011.

An earlier Register article stated Ceja had been out on his morning walk when he was struck by the vehicle. A driver's side mirror had fallen off the BMW during the incident.

A day earlier, three women were injured in another hit-and-run accident in Orange County. The Register reported the three women, ages 66, 70 and 74, were crossing a street in the city of Westminster when a gray four-door Hyundai struck them in the crosswalk and then drove off.

The women were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive. The accident is being investigated by authorities, according to the source.
