An Escondido restaurant owner has been arrested and may lose his liquor license after an inspection by the state's Alcoholic Beverage Control agents.  Though it started out as a routine inspection of Mexican restaurant Mariscos La Botana by Escondido police in conjunction with ABC agents, when law enforcement officials found out that owner Hector Martinez was currently on probation, they decided to do a thorough search of the facilities, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

The agents found about 10 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of about $1,000. Authorities also found $12,000 cash after searching his restaurant on West Washington Ave. …

After San Diego County resident Daniel Sisson was tried in court for a drug possession charge, he and his mom expected that he would be released after he posted his San Diego bail bond. However, since 21-year-old Sisson had been on probation from an earlier conviction for similar charges, he was taken into custody to the Vista Detention Facility. According to CityBeat, just two days after Sisson's arrest, jail officials found Sisson dead in his jail cell. On the afternoon of April 21, Jeffery Thomas Smith pulled his recreational vehicle over on the shoulder of a California highway when he pinned a 59-year-old Temecula man between the RV and the man's car. Smith was believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident and was arrested. The Poway resident was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of felony drunken driving causing injury and, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department website, is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, with an arraignment scheduled for April 23.
