San Diego bail bond lowered for man accused of making death threats

The bail has been lowered for a 26-year-old San Diego County man charged with nine felony counts for making death threats to his former coworkers at Pomerado Hospital. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, San Diego Superior Court Judge Lorna Alksne reduced Jelaan Miles' San Diego bail bond from $1 million to $500,000 because there was a misunderstanding in the courtroom.

After searching through Miles' home n the 2500 block of Fenton Parkway on April 18, investigators say that Miles had been using a Yelp account to make threatening messages toward local businesses, including the hospital, according to Fox 5 San Diego. …

One robbery suspect released on Los Angeles bail bond, other remains in jail

Two Los Angeles County men were recently arrested on suspicion of breaking into a trailer in the Menifee community. According to Patch.com, 37-year-old Christopher Fonseca and 32-year-old Roberto Campos are also suspected of a series of robberies within the community. The duo were apprehended after deputies from the Southwest Sheriff's Station responded to a call on April 27 from the 29400 block of Pyrite Street in an unincorporated community after a resident called in regarding a vehicle burglary. Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. LAPD searching for robbery suspect

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently searching for an individual who is suspected of stealing about $6,000 from a sightseeing tour employee. According to NBC Los Angeles, the suspect was wearing a Spiderman costume. Police detained other Spiderman impersonators in the area, however, they haven't been lucky with locating the suspect. If the individual is caught, it is more than likely he or she will be arrested and booked into a local jail until able to post their Los Angeles bail bond.

Police may have had more clues if a local city council member's idea is approved.

San Diego Police Department fatally shoots woman

A member of the San Diego Police Department fatally shot a woman suspected of attempting to injure her two sons and boyfriend. According to The Los Angeles Times, Lt. Jorge Duran of the San Diego Police Department told the source that a five-year veteran responded to the emergency after receiving a call at midnight in the Bay Terraces neighborhood. Police officers contended the woman attacked her 9-year-old son with a knife after allegedly throwing a vase at her 15-year-old son.

LASD Deputies Allege Undocumented Inmate Abuse

Members of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department who were once part of a jail gang intelligence unit have filed a lawsuit against the LASD.  The suit alleges that after they filed findings that "named names", and outed sworn personnel that were involved in illegal activity, they were harassed.   Their attorneys feel these deputies were maliciously prosecuted for doing their job.

Debate About Race-Based Lockdowns At LA Jails Is Ongoing

A California law that allows corrections officers to lockdown inmates at the Los Angeles jails based on race is coming under fire.  A spokesperson for the jails said they are overcrowded and that racial tensions run high.  When big fights break out between large groups of inmates of different ethnic backgrounds, all detainees of an ethnicity can be locked down.  This, they say, is done in order to enhance safety.

Stockton Police Participate In Large Drug Bust

Earlier last week the Stockton Police Department, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and other local law enforcement agencies participated in something called Operation Gideon IV.  The operation was a joint effort in which more than 20 raids and 200 law enforcement actions were taken.  A total of 84 firearms, including machine guns and short barrel rifles were seized.  More than 50 people were arrested.  Approximately 21 pounds of marijuana, 100 grams of heroin, 36 pounds of methamphetamine and 55 grams of crack were also seized.

According to Southern California Public Radio, prosecutors charged Noguez with 11 new counts of misappropriating public funds by allegedly lowering tax bills for campaign contributors, which brings the cumulative total of his felony charges to 30. A man accused of arson in a Southern California community is expected to be charged for his alleged crimes. According to Patch.com, 35-year-old Javier Adolfo Viera is currently being held at the Pasadena Jail on a $2 million Los Angeles County bail bond. The average bail is set for $50,000, however, due to the nature of Viera's alleged crimes, South Pasadena Police Detective Bill Earley said Viera set dozens of fires throughout the area with the intention of killing or injuring residents. Burglary suspect arrested, held in Theo Lacy Jail

Sheriff's deputies arrested a man in San Clemente on suspicion of a burglary that took place in Laguna Hills on the evening of April 18.

After a tip was called in on April 22, an Orange County Sheriff's deputy arrived in the Los Molinos district of San Clemente just after noon. The San Clemente Patch reported that a man tipped off the sheriff's department after recognizing 27-year-old Brian Michael Vaught as the man who allegedly burglarized his home on Maplewood Drive the previous week.
