Money for Jail Expansion Secured for Fresno County

Several counties were recently vying for millions in state funding that will go towards expanding and improving county jails. Reportedly Fresno County will receive nearly $79.2 million, which will be used to add a new wing to its county jail.

Fresno is one of three large counties that was given a full award. The money will be used toward the new $88 million detention facility in Fresno that will be adjacent to the existing building. It will add an additional 300 beds and have a more updated layout to allow better inmate supervision, mental and medical health …

Just one day after Chief William Lansdowne announced he was stepping down from his role at the San Diego Police Department,  mayor-elect Kevin Faulconer named his replacement.

A domestic violence suspect has been booked into the Santa Rita Jail after being apprehended by a police dog.

Police say it all started on Sunday night when officers took note of a man who was riding his bicycle without the property safety lights.

Modesto Judge Sets Hearing Date for Bail Agent

Bail bondsmen wait for the phone to ring or wait for the client to walk into the office.

Bondsmen do not solicit business by showing up at the jail.
