A Florida-based police officer has been honored for saving lives.  The 25 year-old public servant went above and beyond the call of duty, according to local firefighters, when he helped rescue people from a burning home.

This is why the Professional Firefighters Association chose to honor Jacksonville police officer James Lozano with a special award.

The incident took place in mid-June.  It was during that time that Lozano responded to a call about a structure fire on Rusk Street.  The officer was among the first to arrive on the scene.
