One Officer, One Year – 100 DUI Arrests And Counting

  San Rafael PD Officer Hits 2013 Milestone
Officer Kevin MacDougald has a message for would-be drunk drivers:  if you get behind the wheel of a car, you will be caught.

MacDougald just made his 100th DUI arrest this year, according to San Rafael Police Department records, and he's showing no signs of slowing down.   To put this into greater perspective, his arrests account for about a third of the total DUI arrests made by the department in 2013.

The Science of Sobriety Tests
The dangers of drunk driving are well known, and yet there are still thousands of drivers who attempt to get away with it each year.
Thankfully, law enforcement officers are working hard to crack down on these types of offenders to keep the roadways safe.
Officers use field sobriety tests in addition to the breathalyzer to determine if a driver has imbibed a little too much before getting behind the wheel.
The accuracy of those tests helps the officer know if it is time to get that driver off the road before serious damage is done.

Drunk Driver Drives Herself To Jail

Most people who drive while under the influence try to avoid getting caught.

That is, unless you're Lynn Clemens.

Earlier this week, the 46 year-old Alabama resident decided to indulge in quite a few adult beverages.  At some point in the evening, after drinking herself into a sufficient stupor, she decided she needed to go to jail.

Authorities aren't sure why she hoped in her car and sped off to the county jail, although they have pointed out that intoxicated persons don't exactly think with a clear head.
