Police throughout California are continuing the search for 33-year-old Christopher Jordan Dorner. According to CBS affiliate KFMB, authorities are offering $1 million to anyone who is able to help them track down the suspect, and some of the money is believed to have been donated by the San Diego Police Officers Association. The amount is the largest local reward San Diego Police Department has ever offered, and they are not planning on giving up until they are able to find Dorner.

Dorner has been on the run since February 3, after the daughter of a retired Los Angeles police captain who represented Dorner in disciplinary hearings and her fiance were found dead in their Irvine, California home. Police were able to connect Dorner to the murders after they found some of his personal belongings in a trash can near the scene, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Since the first incident, he has attempted to steal a boat, injured several people with gunshots and killed one police officer. Shortly after Dorner's actions made national media, police officers released information regarding a manifesto he wrote prior to beginning his rampage. Dorner was upset with several members of the Los Angeles Police Department for allegedly promoting racism and brutality within the force.

"I know most of you who personally know me are in disbelief to hear from media reports that I am suspected of committing such horrendous murders. I know I will be vilified by the LAPD and the media," he wrote. "Unfortunately, this is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy but must partake and complete for substantial change to occur within the LAPD and reclaim my name... When the truth comes out, the killing stops. The attacks will stop when the department states the truth about my innocence publicly."

Police found a truck that belonged to Dorner that had been burned just below the San Bernardino Mountains as well as a number of personal items. However, police were unable to find Dorner after losing his foot steps. After he attempted to steal a boat from an 81-year-old man on February 6, officers believed he might have been attempting to travel to Mexico. Security was added from U.S. Customs and Border Protection at a checkpoint in San Ysidro, which is one of the busiest in the nation, according to Fox News.
