Two Los Angeles County men were recently arrested on suspicion of breaking into a trailer in the Menifee community. According to Patch.com, 37-year-old Christopher Fonseca and 32-year-old Roberto Campos are also suspected of a series of robberies within the community. The duo were apprehended after deputies from the Southwest Sheriff's Station responded to a call on April 27 from the 29400 block of Pyrite Street in an unincorporated community after a resident called in regarding a vehicle burglary. Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Kevin McDonald told the source a witness was luckily able to identify both the suspects after he saw them break into the trailer.

"The victim noticed an unknown male standing next to a locked trailer in the victim's driveway," McDonald stated. "The victim went outside to investigate and the subject ran to a dark-colored van and fled the area. The victim checked his trailer and discovered it had been broken into and property was missing."

Witnesses description of the vehicle helped investigators
The witness was able to give a description of the van Fonseca and Campos were driving, which eventually led to their arrest. According to the Southwest Riverside News Network, the witness saw that the two men were driving a dark-colored van, which was later found in the parking lot of an AM/PM store at 33070 Antelope Road in Murrieta.

McDonald told the source that sheriff investigators were present at the scene to assist with the investigation and found some of the stolen property from the victim's trailer inside of the van the pair were driving. In addition, the investigators were also able to link other objects found within the car to other items that were reported stolen in additional robberies in the area in the weeks prior to the incident.

The two men had a criminal past, Fonseca released on Los Angeles bail bond
Police arrested Fonseca and Campos and booked them into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of the burglary charges. Fonseca was also charged with driving with a suspended license and was released later that day on a $5,000 Los Angeles bail bond. Campos remained behind bars on no bail, as he currently has an out-of-county warrant for his arrest.
