Sources close to the investigation said the man had initially been arrested for a burglary warrant. His bail had been set at $115,000. When a person is bailed out of jail that is not to say they are free and clear of responsibility. They will still need to return to court as required to handle their case. If a defendant fails to appear a bench warrant will be issued for their immediate arrest. Their bondsman will have 6 months to get that person back into the system or they will be on the hook to pay the defendant's full bail amount to the court as a penalty. then scaled
Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputies said that at the time the bondsman arrived to the man's residence he attempted to hide on the roof. It was raining, they said, and the defendant was wearing only socks and shorts. He scaled to the top of the roof and refused to budge although he reportedly was able to be lured down several hours later with the promise of food and warm clothes.
