    ARREST & BOOKING INFORMATION

Depending on the capacity and workload of each jail, the booking process may take anywhere from one to 24 hours. A larger facility can take much longer than a smaller one. The smaller California jails may often transfer inmates to larger, central facilities after a certain period of time.

When someone is arrested in Millbrae, arrestees may be transported to the Milbrae Park Police Department for booking. The booking process is a matter of fingerprinting the defendant, background checks, warrant checks and entering their information into the computer system.

Once this is complete, arrestees may be transported to the San Mateo County Jail, also referred to as the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City.

    RELEASE & BAIL DETAILS

Once the bail bond paperwork has been completed, our licensed agent will “post” the bail bond at the  jail which will result in the release of the defendant. We can typically complete the entire bail bond process within 1 to 2 hours. Please be aware that we cannot begin the bail bond process until all the arrest and booking procedures are completed by the jail.

Once a bond has been posted, it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours for release from the San Mateo County Jail. It’s important to know that if the defendant is not bailed out, he or she will generally remain in custody until the matter has been resolved in court.

Detailed information regarding the defendant is helpful, but not necessary, to have at hand when initiating the bail process. Items such as where the arrestee is being detained, how much their bail is, etc., will assist in us in moving forward. When you call, we’ll discuss the bail bond application process with you.

We will then determine if we can write the bond without the use any of collateral, such as a home. We always offer our clients a simple application to understand which can be processed by email or fax in just a few minutes.
