Man released on LA bail bond

Forty-four-year-old Miguel Nevarez Jr. was recently released from jail on a $100,000 LA bail bond. According to CBS LA, Nevarez was driving a 2002 black GMC pick-up truck when he hit 51-year-old Maitee Estrada at 10 a.m. on April 9 at the intersection of East Fineview Street and North Durfee Avenue and drove away immediately after without reporting the incident. Estrada's daughter Illiana Torres told the source her mother, one of the community's crossing guards, was tossed about 70 feet from where she was standing after being hit by the car.

Five held in Vista Detention Facility after house party robbery

Five men were arrested April 6 on multiple charges of armed robbery after a gun-point robbery in San Marcos. The victims of the robbery were attending a house party when they were held up at gun-point at 2:50 a.m. outside of 505 Honeyglen Dr. near Via Vera Cruz in San Marcos. The suspects are Sam Niu, 21, Gregg Leauanae, 20, Johnnie Edwards, 18, Judd Liulamaga, 18, and Mautofu Maiava, 19, ABC affiliate KGTV in San Diego reported. All five suspects fled the scene of the robbery before the police arrived.

Two men who are alleged to be tied to a long list of armed robberies have been captured and detained by members of the San Francisco Police Department.
