A woman was recently arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Las Colinas women's jail in Santee after her husband died from a gunshot wound to his chest. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the man and woman were reportedly fighting for a gun inside a San Diego apartment on March 23 when he was shot.

The Fremont Police Department has said that two recent gun buyback events were a resounding success. Nearly 340 weapons were collected, according to a department spokesperson. Among the items turned in were rifles, hand guns and shotguns. Officers distributed more than $50,000 to those who chose to hand over weapons.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department makes St. Patrick’s Day DUI arrests
Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies were on patrol during St. Patrick's Day weekend to catch any drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A total of 45 people were arrested when authorities determined the drivers may be driving at intoxication levels exceeding the legal limit, the Orange County Register reported. The sheriff's department's DUI task force increased enforcement throughout the community, which led to the arrests on county roads and freeways across Orange County.
The number of arrests during the holiday weekend was down compared to last year. Sixty-four people were arrested during St. Patrick's Day weekend in 2012, the Register reported.
