Costumed superheroes can often been seen walking along Hollywood Blvd.  This is not a hobby for the masked crime fighters.  It is instead a way for them to gain income.  Tourists can tip the spandex-clad men and women in order to cozy up along side them for various photo opportunities.

As you can imagine, times are tough for superheroes.  The economy has taken a toll on them, as well.

The competition along Hollywood Blvd. has become fierce.  Earlier last week, one Spider Man and two Captain Americas got into an all out brawl in some sort of turf war.

The not-so-super-friends started to throw punches.  Plenty of tourists were on hand and many of them captured the incident with their cameras and cell phones.

Spider-Man reportedly started to bleed.  Witnesses said it was right around that time that Batman decided to step in.  The masked crime fighter said that some unscrupulous superheros have been strong-arming tourists for large tips.  Others have allegedly been pickpocketing area visitors in order to pad their own wallets.   He said that no one wants to remember a vacation to Los Angeles because they were hustled by The Incredible Hulk.

The matter is being investigated by members of the Los Angeles Police Department.   The LAPD, though, said this is just another in a series of incidents that involve superheros behaving badly.

In March, Spider-Man was arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from a tour operator.

One month prior, an Ozzy Ozbourne impersonator got into a brawl with Catwoman.

SpongeBob Square Pants was arrested in September of 2011 and was charged with one count of harassment.  Another Spider-Man was arrested in 2009 for outstanding warrants.

The current investigation is ongoing.
