A spokesperson for the Los Angeles jails has confirmed they are detaining a man who is alleged to have stolen passes to Disneyland.  The 51 year-old defendant is said to have posed as a member of the Disney family.

Law enforcement officials said the man forged a driver's license in which he changed his last name do Disney.  He also falsified tax forms in order to reflect payment from Walt Disney Corporation.   The incident began when Stephen Urquidez aka Stephen Disney told a friend he was a member of a prominent local family that has ties to an internationally known corporation.    That woman reportedly does a lot of work for a local non profit corporation.  The defendant is alleged to have stolen the passes so he could provide them to this woman for a raffle.

Los Angeles jail officials reportedly said law enforcement was tipped off at the time the raffle winner tried to use the passes.  Those passes had not been activated, they said, and the people who attempted to use them were denied entry to the theme park.   Further investigation uncovered that Urquidez stole the passes from a local store.   Sheriff's deputies have underlined that the man has no relation or ties to the Disney Family.

The defendant was arrested and charged with felony possession of a stolen drivers license.  He is also being charged on suspicion of felony burglary.  Bail for Urquidez had been set at $20,000.  He was detained briefly at the LASD Santa Clarita Jail before hiring an expert bondman to post a bond.   A representative from that facility said he was arraigned earlier this week.  Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by this man is asked to call the LASD in order to pass on that information.
