Five men were arrested April 6 on multiple charges of armed robbery after a gun-point robbery in San Marcos. The victims of the robbery were attending a house party when they were held up at gun-point at 2:50 a.m. outside of 505 Honeyglen Dr. near Via Vera Cruz in San Marcos. The suspects are Sam Niu, 21, Gregg Leauanae, 20, Johnnie Edwards, 18, Judd Liulamaga, 18, and Mautofu Maiava, 19, ABC affiliate KGTV in San Diego reported. All five suspects fled the scene of the robbery before the police arrived.

According to San Diego County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Allan Paez the victims' description of the gunmen and the vehicle were radioed to law enforcement units in the area after the robbery. The police were quickly able to pull over the suspected car containing five men in Vista, about 6 miles away from the party. A high-risk felony vehicle stop was conducted, and during a curbside lineup at 955 Postal Way, the victims were able to positively identify the suspects. A search of the vehicle revealed the guns used in the robbery as well as the stolen property. As a result, all five men were taking into custody.

The suspects were booked into the Vista Detention Facility facing charges of robbery, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and committing a felony on behalf of a criminal street gang. Maiava faces additional charges of carrying ammunition and a loaded firearm as a convicted felon, violation of probation, and providing a false identity to an officer and was denied bail.

Niu, was booked on 10 counts, with bail set at $640,000; Leauanae, seven counts, $490,000 bail; Edwards, 10 counts, $620,000 bail;  Liulamaga, 10 counts, $565,000 bail.

The suspects were scheduled to appear in the North County Courthouse in Vista on April 9.
