If someone is arrested in Lakewood, or the surrounding areas of Artesia, Bellflower, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens or Paramount, they will be transported to the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station Jail located on North Clark Avenue in Lakewood.

The Lakewood Sheriff’s Station, which is located in the southeast area of Los Angeles County, provides general and specialized community-oriented law enforcement services to over 270,000 residents. Lakewood was the first city in the nation to contract for all of its municipal services.

The Lakewood Station Jail is serviced by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and is a smaller facility. If there is overcrowding there or the defendant has a medical condition, they may be transported to either the Twin Towers jail facility for men, or the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF) jail in Lynwood for women; all of which have a much longer booking and release process.
