ARREST AND JAIL INFORMATION

Since there is not a jail located at the Brawley Police Department station, when someone has been arrested in the area of Brawley they will be transported to the Imperial County Jail located in El Centro for booking into the system.

The booking process consists of photographing, fingerprinting, and background check. It’s important to know that this process can take several hours to complete. During the booking process, a bail bond can not be posted.

We recommend beginning the bail process as quickly as possible to expedite the defendant’s release. Once the bond has been posted, release from this facility may often take between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the workload of the jail staff and the arrestee’s individual situation.
