When arrested in San Bruno, male inmates may be transported to the San Mateo County Jail, also referred to as the Maguire Correctional Facility for booking and processing into the system. Female inmates may be transferred to the San Mateo Women's Correctional Jail also in Redwood City.

At the time of the defendant’s arrest, booking and processing, the bail amount will be set by a judge according to a San Mateo County bail schedule. The booking process generally consists of a background check, fingerprinting, photographs checking for any previous warrants and finally, processing of the arrestee into the jail’s computer system.
