ARREST AND JAIL INFORMATION

When someone is arrested in the Mountain View area, arrestees will typically be transported to the Santa Clara County Main Jail Complex for booking. The booking process consists of photographing, fingerprinting, and a nation-wide computer database search.

It’s important to know that this process can take several hours to complete. When choosing to bail someone out of the main jail complex, we always recommend starting the bail process as quickly as possible to expedite their release.

BAIL COSTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Bail amounts are set by Santa Clara County judges. When bail is set, it is intended to be in accordance to the severity of the offense and significant enough to be certain the defendant appears to their court dates.

The cost of a Santa County bail bond is established by the State of California at 10% of the total bail amount. For example, for a bail amount of $20,000, a bail bond will cost $2,000. We always accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. You may also pay by cash.
