After the documentation is complete, a licensed bondsman will “post” the bail bond to the jail and the defendant will be released.

The entire process should take only 1-2 hours from the time the arrest and booking procedures are complete.

Q: How much does a bail bond cost?

A: California has a set state mandate that places a 10% fee of the bail amount. If bail is set at $300,000 then the amount owed for the bond is $30,000. Please beware of bail bond fraud and of any company offering to post a bail bond for less than the state laws 10% fee.  Bail bond cost is set by California law, which regulates the fees. Companies charging less are acting illegally and have been known to take money from a client and never post the bail.
