CERES POLICE DEPARTMENT AND JAIL INFORMATION

The Ceres Police Department Traffic Unit is supervised by Sergeant Danny Vierra and consists of two full time Traffic Officers and one Reserve. Each Officer assigned to the Unit must receive extensive training for the special assignment.

The City of Ceres operates its own full-service emergency communications center. It provides around-the-clock dispatching services for police patrol units and the center is a 9-1-1 emergency call answering location.

When a person has been arrested by the Ceres Police Department, they will be transported to the Stanislaus County Jail located in downtown Modesto for booking and processing into the jail system. Women will generally be transported to The Public Safety Center facility on East Hackett Road in Modesto.

The booking process usually consists of background checks, fingerprints, photographs (mug shots) and checking for any previous warrants or holds. The jail staff cannot tell us exactly when the inmate will be released, however, when they are released, they will have access to a phone.
