Task force aims to keep people out of San Joaquin jail

The California prison realignment program took effect in October 2011, and shortly after, San Diego County began a program through the Center for Employment Opportunity that is helping former prison and jail inmates find jobs and transition to life post-incarceration. The deputy was processing the inmate at the San Diego Central Jail, who had been arrested for a parole violation, when the inmate attacked the deputy and tried to run away, the North County Times reported.
