UCSB POLICE DEPARTMENT AND JAIL INFORMATION
The University of California Santa Barbara Police Department provides traditional and non-traditional police and public safety services. Their efforts are directed at creating an environment where research, education, and public service flourish.
The UCSB campus police work hard to maintain and enhance existing community partnerships which serve to make the campus a safe place to live, learn, and work. Additionally, the Department provides for the peace, safety and security of persons and facilities on university property.
Each member of the public safety team, including law enforcement, civilian support personnel, emergency medical services, and Community Service Officers (CSO), are dedicated to the safety and success of the University community.
It's important to know that since there is only a temporary holding cell located at the UCSB police station, those arrested at or around the UCSB campus will be transported to the Santa Barbara Main Jail for booking and processing.
Once a bond has been posted, it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours for the release of the defendant. We can post a bond at the jail 24 hours a day.
