The Orinda Police Department strives to maintain a sense of safety for all its residents, visitors and members of the business community. Police services are provided through a contract with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

The Department responds to all requests for service and whenever possible work to reduce crimes and traffic accidents. They do this through prevention, enforcement and education.

The Orinda PD provides a safe and secure environment through professionalism, dedication, and an active partnership with the community. Active reserve officers, cadets and citizen volunteer programs assist the department in its service to the community. In addition, the department also has two full time support personnel to provide clerical support and parking enforcement.

When someone has been arrested by the Orinda Police Department (in this case a Sheriff's Deputy), they may be taken to the local station for a short time to be processed. However, they will quickly be transported to Contra Costa County's main jail, the Martinez Jail, and booked in.

The booking of a defendant generally consists of photographs (or mug-shots), taking fingerprints, and conducting background checks. This process can take from 2 to 4 hours or more, depending on the defendant’s individual case.

It’s important to know that if the defendant is not bailed out, he or she will generally remain in custody until the matter has been resolved in court. Release from this jail can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, depending upon the jail staff.

We offer several convenient bail payment options to our clients. Our bail agents can help to arrange an affordable bail bond which meets your financial needs. With our company, often bail bond collateral will not be required.

We accept all major credit cards and most clients find using a credit card the easiest way to pay for a bail bond. We strive to provide the most professional, comprehensive bail service anywhere.
