The Napa County Sheriff's Office is committed to serving the communities that it has sworn to protect. On top of providing law enforcement, the Sheriff's Office also provides several community services which include, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), Sheriff’s Activities League (S.A.L.), and the Sheriff Citizen's Academy.

Within the County of Napa, there are several sheriff substations. They service the areas of St. Helena, Lake Berryessa and Angwin. There are also several incorporated cities and towns served which include American Canyon, Napa, St. Helena and Calistoga. The Sheriff's Office also provides police services for American Canyon and Yountville.

Is someone has been arrested anywhere in the City or County of Napa, they will be transported to the Napa County Jail located on Third Street. The booking process generally includes photographs, fingerprints, and background checks.

It's important to realize that the "booking-in" process can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours or more to complete, depending on the defendant’s specific case.  A bail bond cannot be posted with the Napa County jail until the defendant is completely booked into their system.
