The officers of the Cal Poly Pomona University Police Department are committed to providing professional police and emergency services, and working to support the University's academic mission. Officers and dispatchers are on duty 24-hours a day.

University Police Officers have statewide law enforcement authority and provide security and emergency response on campus. They are responsible for all criminal reports and investigations on campus. Over 10,000 calls for service are received annually.

CAMPUS SERVICES

Safety Escort Service

The Department provides a safety escort service to students, faculty and staff. A community service officer will escort you to your vehicle, residence hall or the University Village. Escort services are available from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, during Fall and Spring Semesters and from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm during the Summer.

Parking and Transportation

The Parking and Transportation Services hires students at the University to be Community Service Officers. To be eligible, students must be registered at the university and maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher and have 6.1 units per quarter.

ARREST & BOOKING

When someone is arrested on campus at California State Polytechnic University, they will be taken in to the Los Angeles County Jail for booking. They will be searched for drugs and contraband, and any personal property will be collected and held until they are released from jail.

The booking process will consist of fingerprinting, mug shots, a background check and warrant search. This could take several hours to complete if the jail staff has a large number of incoming arrestees. They will have access to a phone and will be able to contact a family member or friend, a lawyer or a bail bondsman.

COST OF A BAIL BOND

For Pomona, bail is determined by the Los Angeles County bail schedule. The cost of a bail bond is equal to 10% of the total bail amount. For example, if bail is set at $15,000, you will pay a bail bond fee of $1,500. It is important to know that this fee is not negotiable and will not be returned regardless of the outcome of the case.
