When someone is arrested in Fontana, they will be transported to the Fontana Police Department Station for processing. If they are not released from this small holding facility, they will be transported to the West Valley Detention Center for booking and processing into the jail system.

Generally, the booking process can consist of a background check, fingerprints, photographs and checking for any previous warrants, or holds. This can take approximately 3 to 6 hours to complete.

When the defendant has been updated in the system, they will be eligible for bail. You should know that if the defendant is not bailed out of jail, they will remain in custody and await their first arraignment. We can post bond 24 hours a day.
