    The Stanislaus County Sheriff Department provides law enforcement which covers an area of approximately 1,521 square miles and provides a full spectrum of law enforcement to 4 Contract Cities, which are Patterson, Riverbank, Hughson and Waterford.

    The Stanislaus County Men’s Jail is located in downtown Modesto. It contains booking facilities and temporary detention of all male inmates and also provides housing for all un-sentenced and high-risk male prisoners who cannot be housed at the Honor Farm. The Average inmate population is 376. The Men’s Jail receives approximately 1489 bookings (arrests) per month.

    The Public Safety Center facility has a 400-plus bed capacity for medium/maximum male and female inmates. The average inmate population is 436 and it receives approximately 354 bookings (arrests) per month. It is the site of the consolidated jails as well as other Sheriffs Offices.

    The Honor Farm is located fourteen miles southwest of Modesto in Stanislaus County and houses sentenced inmates and selected pretrial inmates. Inmates housed here have the ability to participate in outdoor exercise and are permitted open area visits with relatives and friends. Inmates are expected to participate in work crews assigned to maintenance or highway cleanup work.

    The Honor Farm was relocated and opened at its current site in 1967.  The Average inmate population is 350.

    Visiting is scheduled on a regular basis, limited only by the physical and personnel constraints of the Stanislaus County Adult Detention Facilities.
