SOLVANG SHERIFF DEPARTMENT AND JAIL INFORMATION

The City of Solvang Substation, operated by the Santa Barbara Sheriff Department, serves the community of Solvang along with the outlying unicorporated areas of the Santa Ynez Valley. This includes: Los Olivos, Lake Cachuma, Santa Ynez and Los Alamos. The stations' hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If someone you know has been arrested in the Solvang area, they will be transported to the Santa Barbara Main Jail for booking and processing, as there is no jail facility located at the Solvang sub-station.

The Santa Barbara jail staff can take approximately 2 to 6 hours to book an arrestee. The booking process generally consists of fingerprinting, photographs and having a complete a background check. It's important to know that if the defendant is not bailed out, they will remain in custody until their first court date.
