SAN JOSE POLICE DEPARTMENT SOUTHERN DIVISION

The Southern Division Policing Center located at the Westfield Oakridge Mall encompasses more than 1028 street miles and is the largest of the four patrol divisions. It is located at Shoppingtown (ground Level, Garage A). The Southern Division is comprised of four patrol districts which are, Adam, Tom, X-Ray, and Yellow.

When someone is arrested by the SJPD Southern Division, they will likely be taken to the main San Jose jail complex. This is Santa Clara County's main jail. Whenever a defendant is transported to the San Jose jail complex, they must be processed into the system. The booking process usually consists of photographs, fingerprints and a background check. This process can often times take from 2 to 4 or more hours to complete, depending on how busy the jail staff are.

After arrest and processing is complete, the bail amount will be set according to the published Santa Clara County Bail Schedule.
