    The Operations Bureau of the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office provides services to the unincorporated area of Santa Cruz County and consists of three major Divisions which are; Patrol, Investigations, and Community Policing.

    The Patrol Division's mandate is to provide continuous first responder 9-1-1 service, non-emergency service, and general law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of Santa Cruz County.

    The Investigation Division's mandate is to perform thorough and accurate investigations which not routinely handled by the Patrol Division. Detectives are assigned to investigate serious crimes which require technical skills, resources, abilities, and specialized training.

    The Community Policing Division upholds a philosophy which promotes organizational strategies. This supports the systematic use of partnerships and problem-solving techniques, addressing conditions which regard public safety issues such as crime, social disorder, and any fear of crime.

    The Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office Corrections Bureau is dedicated to providing the highest standard of service to both the public and inmates at all of the Santa Cruz County Jails.
